Karl Lagerfeld for Coca-Cola - second time around

Karl Lagerfeld, the Kaiser himself, will team up with Coca-Cola to once again do design for the well-known soft drink brand. The three different designs will be released in April.

Last year's Lagerfeld design for Coca-Cola Light

KING's own IvanaHelsinki (superchic Finnish fashion brand) already beat Lagerfeld to the chase. In 2008 IvanaHelsinki was among six other European brands chosen to design aluminium cans for Coca-Cola Light.

Which of the designs do you prefer??? KING is rooting for IvanaHelsinki... :)

Golden Globe 2011 styles

On January 15th it was time for the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards and, as always, the red carpet styles are always as much up for debate as the nominations. This year we saw a lot of nudes and peachy hues, but also a splash of color with still very much on-trend reds and jewelry shades.

1. Neutral nude, but not boring

Leighton Meester adapts the long-sleeve trend in this dress from Burberry, and does it well! KING loves the combination of the long, puffy sleeves and the high slit of the skirt. We also like that she chose to keep the hair simple and let the dress speak for itself.

Michelle Williams looks very girly in this Valentino dress with a daisy flower print. Even though she looks cute we're not crazy about the flowers and think she would look even better in a stronger color. A plus for the shoulder-straps though!

Anne Hathaway does classic Hollywood glamour in a Giorgio Armani PrivĂ© gown. KING loves the simple, clean design of the dress combined with the bold shoulders.

What can we say?! Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka proves that one doesn't have to be in their 20s to look stunning.

2. Whites

Like many stars, Nicole Kidman opted for the minimalistic trend. However this Prada dress makes her look like she's about to enter a beauty pageant...

Jennifer Lopez looks like the diva she is in this Zuhair Murad gown. KING would have thrown away the weird cape though!

3. From peach to pink

We don't like to criticize what Natalie Portman wears, but this dress from Viktor & Rolf really doesn't suit her. There are so many great dresses that fit the belly bump, but this one seems too pale for her and the draping in the back makes it look like an ill-fitting toga...

Claire Danes look absolutely gorgeous in this clean dress from minimalistic king Calvin Klein. We love the shade as well as the high neckline and the plunging back.

This superstrong pink gown from Lanvin looks fantastic on Julianne Moore, who once and for all proves that redheads can wear hot pink. Even though the trend of just one long sleeve can be hard to pull off, KING thinks that her simple hair-do as well as her pale skin really make this look a hit.

4. A splash of color

WOW - if we had the body of January Jones we would also like to show it in this bright red dress from Versace!

Angelina Jolie looks absolutely amazing in this Swarowski studded pale emerald colored dress from Versace. KING really likes the long sleeves and the fitted waist.

Yellow is one of the biggest trends this spring, and Kyra Sedgwick really makes it work in this mustard colored Pucci dress. She also shows that a simple ponytail can be the best hairstyle for a glamorous gala!

5. Black

Olivia Wilde goes all-in in this superglamorous Marchesa gown. Her simple hairstyle completes the look.

Although KING might not get Helena Bonham Carters Vivianne Westwood dress and the different colored shoes, we love that she never failes to make an impression. Somehow she makes this quirky, all-over-the-place dress work, even though it might only work for her.

What do YOU think of the dresses?! Which one did you like the best, and which one was NOT flattering?!

Thank you wonderful WanderLust!

Last night the wonderful trio of WanderLust hosted a housewarming party, and of course KING didn't want to miss such an event. Cool and stylish, the apartment reflected the WanderLust style very well! We completely LOVED the knife rest that one of the girls covered in studs all by herself:

We were also blown away by the creativity behind the legwarmers - they're actually sleeves from a faux-fur coat! A coat that is now a faux-fur vest... :)

Awesome WanderLust girls

Botanical prints for spring 2011

With snow on the ground and more on the way we are very much looking forward to spring - especially with all the gorgeous trends this season! One big trend for spring 2011 are prints, and at KING we're in love with the botanical prints that have been seen at Stella McCartney and Erdem, for example. Luckily, more wallet-friendly high-street brands such as H&M also have similar prints.

People's Choice Awards Fashion Round-Up

Last night was the 37th annual People's Choice Awards, the first of this season's large-scale award shows.  The People's Choice Awards telecasts live and allows fans to vote for their favorite entertainers directly.

Obviously, this year the voting process was dominated by tweenyboppers as The Twilight Saga: Eclipse beat out Oscar top-runners such as Inception and The Social Network for Favorite Dramatic Film and Kristen Stewart won favorite movie actress, triumphing over Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Katherine Heigl for the honor.  Personally, I have nothing against the Twilight series. I've secretly read all of the books and even watched the films.  But, while surely entertaining, the most recent installment was definitely a far cry from the best dramatic film of 2010.

As always, it wasn't just the award winners that are up for debate.  So are the red carpet fashions.  Below are the night's red carpet winners, based on US Magazine's infinite wisdom. Here at King, we agreed with some of the winners- believing their looks were right on target for the night's theme of "Hollywood Chic." That said, there were quite a few clear misses- many of which somehow snuck their way onto US Magazine's list today.  Also, isn't it a tiny bit curious that all 5 Kardashian sisters made the top-20 looks list?

What did King think of US Magazine's winners' list?

1. Kim Kardashian
In a Malandrino dress, a Rina Limor necklace, Amrapali earrings, Christian Louboutin heels and a Chanel clutch
We think Kim looks fabulous. The ensemble is the epitome of "Hollywood Chic" and every detail works, from her updo to her pumps.  Our only complaint is that she played it too safe.  She has tried this look so many times.  Would like to see her try something new.

2. Taylor Swift
In a J. Mendel dress, Neil Lane jewels and Prada shoes
This is a beautiful dress and Taylor is a beautiful girl- but we didn't like this dress on Taylor.  We feel bad saying anything negative since her recent break-up with Jake, but this color completely washes Taylor out.  Her legs are also much tanner than the rest of her skin, which makes the color combination look even worse.

3. Selena Gomez
In a Irina Shabayeva dress, Christian Louboutin shoes and Isharya earrings
Again, beautiful dress and beautiful girl but we don't like the combination.  Selena should be in something short and fun.  This dress is way too old for her.

4. Kristen Stewart
In a Reem Acra dress and Jimmy Choo peep-toes

We thought this look was a real winner! It was a fun dress and the perfect length to show off Kristen's youth and great legs.  The heels were too high for her to walk, but thankfully she had a vampire and werewolf to walk her to the stage to accept her award.

5. Katy Perry
In a Betsey Johnson dress and Casadei peep-toes
We understand this is Katy Perry and this is her style, but she looks like she should be working as the good fairy in Disney World with this outfit. The colors work on her and, taking the dress as a necessary evil, her make-up looks great.

6. Natalie Portman
In a Jason Wu dress and Dior shoes
We know she's preggers and we love Black Swan too but she's not THAT pregnant yet!  The color looks lovely on her, but the dress itself is just too boxy.  She looks like an old lady going to church.

7. Mila Kunis
In a J. Mendel dress and Brian Atwood pumps
Mila looks great and we are glad she is finally getting the recognition she deserves as a beauty and as an actress. She looks natural and the dress fits her perfectly.  Would have just preferred to see her in a different color- something more fun!

8. Ashley Benson
In a Paule Ka dress
We're not huge fans of the dress, but more importantly just didn't think it fit her well at all.  The ensemble is just not flattering on her.

9. Kourtney Kardashian
In a Gert-Johan Coetzee dress, Christian Louboutin heels and a Swarovski clutch
Kourtney looks confident and the dress fits well.  Even though we don't love the dress, we appreciate that she took a little risk.  But why is she so orange?

10. Khloe Kardashian
In an Alexander McQueen dress, Christian Louboutin heels, Amrapali earrings and a Judith Leiber clutch
Great dress (RIP McQueen!) but it does Khloe no favors. We were confused by the new hair color choice as well.

11. JoAnna Garcia
In a Capretta dress, YSL shoes, Damiani jewels and a Zambos and Siega clutch
Beautiful girl but what a boring dress to select for an awards show!  We did love her earrings.

12. Jennifer Aniston
In a Dolce & Gabbana vest and pants combo

It's a flattering look but, again, we are just tired of seeing Jen in this exact outfit. Why did everyone take the safe way out last night?

13. Jennifer Finnigan
In a Robert Rodriguez dress, Bvlgari jewels, Stuart Weitzman heels and a Bvlgari clutch
We loved the dress, loved the fit, loved the hair, loved the make-up and loved the purse.  She looks fabulous!  Who is she?

14. Maggie Q
In an Herve Leger by Max Azria dress
Rihanna, Heidi and a slew of other starlets would have rocked this dress.  Unfortunately, it's the wrong length for Maggie and her loose hairstyle contributes to the overall "dress wearing her" effect.

15. Ashley Tisdale
In a Farah Angsana dress, Dana Rebecca Designs jewels and a Swarovski clutch
First, why is Ashley so orange?  We didn't even recognize her at first glance! Again, we thought the dress was a beautiful dress but not for an awards show and the color clashes with her skin.  She should have wore something short and fun and saved this for a day at the polo.

16. Julie Bowen
In an Alberto Makali dress

We're big fans of Modern Family, but if Julie wanted to play the sweet card- she should have chosen a better dress. The top was ill-fitting and the waistline wrong for her body.  We also didn't like the bottom.

17. Kate Walsh
In a David Meister Signature dress
The dress is wonderful and the color looks gorgeous on Kate!  It looks like she spent so much time deciding upon the perfect dress that she forgot to pick out appropriate shoes and do her hair.  We wish her heels were higher and her hair was up!

18. Kendall Jenner
In a Bebe dress, Christian Louboutin heels and a Le Vian ring

We loved the dress and the funky shoes which play up her youth! Nice color and great fit!

19. Kylie Jenner
In a Wink dress and Christian Louboutin heels
We just found this outfit boring.

20. Leighton Meester
In a Vionnet dress and Brian Atwood pumps
It looks like Leighton didn't have time to change before the show and was stuck wearing her "running errands" outfit. We were disappointed with this one.

King's winners of the night were Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Finnigan and Kendall Kardashian- with Kristen Stewart taking the overall win.  Who knew? I guess we're big Twilight fans after all!

What do YOU think of US Magazine's winners' list?
